The NDLEA apprehends a 70-year-old grandmother and her son for drug trafficking

A 70-year-old grandmother, Selifat Funke Cole, and her son, Babajide Ayorinde Cole, were apprehended by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with 117.900kg of cannabis sativa during a raid in the Mushin area of Lagos where the family resides.

NDLEA’s sniffer dogs also detected cocaine in an India-bound shipment at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The consignment of spare parts from Asaba, Delta, bound for Malviya Nagar, New Delhi, was intercepted, revealing 200 grams of cocaine.

Additionally, joint operations in Delta led to the recovery of 353kg of cannabis, while in Enugu, 435.1kg of Indian hemp was found in a warehouse at Trans Ekulu. In Edo, five individuals impersonating NDLEA officers were arrested with a fabricated gun and a wooden pistol.
