I make choices for peace in Rivers, not driven by fear — Fubara

Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State emphasized that his administration’s decisions in the ongoing political crisis are driven by a commitment to peace, not fear. This stance was communicated through a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Boniface Onyedi.

During the inaugural state banquet on January 1 at the Government House Port Harcourt, Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara addressed the people of Rivers, wishing them a prosperous 2024. He urged them to support the ongoing peace process initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to avoiding political conflicts that could impede development.

Governor Fubara stressed that every decision made is guided by the well-being of the people and respect for elders, not fear. He appealed for unity and peace, emphasizing the administration’s dedication to leaving a legacy of development in Rivers State. Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo, expressed gratitude for Governor Fubara’s focus on delivering democratic dividends despite the political challenges in the state.

Highlighting the virtues of the governor, he emphasized that Rivers State is fortunate to have a leader who is thoughtful, humble, truthful, and diligent. He encouraged the residents to champion ideals of peace, truth, and justice to ensure the state’s continued path to greatness.
