Chelsea has pinpointed a player to pursue as an alternative to Osimhen in the transfer market

Chelsea is reportedly exploring the possibility of acquiring Girona’s Artem Dovbyk as a temporary solution in lieu of their primary target, Victor Osimhen. Osimhen’s potential transfer to Chelsea in the current January window seems improbable following his recent contract extension with Napoli. The Sun, as reported by Teamtalk, indicates that Chelsea is expressing interest in securing Dovbyk’s services at Stamford Bridge this January.

Dovbyk’s performance for Girona in La Liga this season has been noteworthy, tallying 11 goals and five assists across 17 games. Although his contract with the La Liga club extends until 2028, potentially making him an expensive option, it remains a more economical choice compared to Osimhen.

Given Chelsea’s ongoing struggles in scoring goals this season, acquiring a player like Dovbyk could be a viable solution. Additionally, there are rumors linking Mauricio Pochettino’s side with Brentford’s Ivan Toney.
