The reason for my departure from ‘The Johnsons’ TV drama – Samuel ‘Spiff’ Ajibola

Nigerian actor, Samuel Ajibola, has disclosed the reason behind his departure from the well-known soap opera, ‘The Johnsons.’ The performer, known for his role as Spiff, a comical character on the show, explained that he chose to leave the television series to pursue his aspirations. He emphasized that departing from the soap opera has allowed him to reposition himself as a producer and director.

During a recent interview with Channels TV, Samuel Ajibola explained, “I spent nine years at ‘The Johnsons,’ investing in someone else’s dream. Even before departing, I had already initiated DAILY Issues, my comedy skits, starting in 2016. I began building my own venture to emerge as a producer and director.

“At a certain point, I felt the need to take that bold step and leave my comfort zone, even though everyone recognized my success. I needed to leave because, naturally, I am an adventurous person and a big risk-taker. I was well aware of the risk I was about to take, as I listened to my instincts, and to this day, I haven’t regretted it.

“Leaving [‘The Johnsons’] has not only re-established me but has also defined me more as a producer and a director.”
