30 shops, goods worth millions razed by fire in Yobe

A fire outbreak in the early morning hours has resulted in the destruction of property valued at millions of Naira in the well-known Damaturu GSM market. The cause of the fire has not been determined at the time of this report, and firefighters worked for several hours to bring the blaze under control.

Malami Ali, the Chairman of the GSM market, expressed the extent of the losses, stating, “Our members have incurred losses exceeding N150 million due to the inferno.”

The Police Public Relations Officer for the Yobe State Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, has affirmed the occurrence of the incident to reporters in Damaturu. He stated, “Over 30 shops were entirely consumed by the fire, with no loss of life or injuries reported. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.”
