AFCON 2023: ‘We don’t fear him’ – Cameroon coach Song on Super Eagles player

Rigobert Song, the head coach of the Cameroon national team, has stated that his team will show respect to Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen but emphasized that they do not feel intimidated by the Napoli striker. Despite acknowledging Osimhen’s abilities, Song made it clear that his team is not afraid of facing him. The Super Eagles have emerged victorious in their previous two AFCON encounters against the Indomitable Lions and will be aiming to extend this winning streak with a victory in the upcoming last-16 clash scheduled for this Saturday.

Osimhen has yet to demonstrate his top form at the 2023 AFCON, having only scored one goal in three matches thus far. However, Song is well aware of the 25-year-old’s potential when he’s on form. “Osimhen is a significant player,” Song stated to the Guardian, as reported by Yahoo Sports. “We are familiar with him and hold him in high regard. However, showing respect for him does not equate to being afraid of him.”
