EPL: He’s so respected – Carragher reveals manager to replace Klopp at Liverpool

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has expressed that his former Reds teammate Xabi Alonso is the frontrunner to succeed the departing manager Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. Klopp made a sudden announcement on Friday that he will depart Liverpool at the end of the season, citing a depletion of energy after nearly nine years in charge of the club.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher emphasized Alonso’s esteemed reputation at Liverpool. “We are bidding farewell to one of the greatest managers in world football, one of Liverpool’s finest managers, and it’s a somber day, no doubt,” Carragher told Sky Sports. “However, we must also look ahead to the arrival of a new manager, support them wholeheartedly, and embrace the transition. Bill Shankly departed, Bob Paisley departed, Kenny Dalglish departed, and Liverpool continued to progress. Xabi Alonso’s presence is undeniable due to his immense respect at Liverpool for his contributions as a player – he’s a Champions League winner, conducted himself with great dignity, and holds a World Cup title. Presently, his remarkable work at Bayer Leverkusen positions him as one of the brightest talents in European football. This certainly makes him the leading candidate.”
