AFCON: Angola can’t stop Super Eagles — Lookman

Nigerian striker Ademola Lookman confidently stated that the Palancas Negras of Angola would not be able to prevent the Super Eagles from advancing to the semi-finals of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.

The two teams are set to clash in a quarter-final match on Friday at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

The Super Eagles have already secured victories against formidable opponents such as Cote d’Ivoire and Cameroon in the tournament.

Lookman expressed confidence that the Super Eagles are prepared for the upcoming challenge and will exert maximum effort to defeat Pedro Goncalves’ team.

“We have put in a lot of effort to reach this stage of the competition, and we will continue to strive towards our goal,” Lookman stated to reporters.

“Our goal is to return home with the trophy. Although we haven’t achieved it yet, it’s an attainable objective.

“We are aware of the strength of the Angola team even before the start of the tournament. They have performed admirably here, boasting a squad filled with quality players.”
