Acute hardship causing rising insecurity – Iyabo Ojo

Renowned Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has attributed the increasing insecurity in Nigeria to severe hardship.

The actress emphasized that factors such as acute depression, insomnia, and substance abuse are contributing to insecurity, irrational behavior, and deteriorating mental health within society.

In a post on her Instagram page, Iyabo Ojo mentioned that her decision to stop reading her direct messages (DMs) stems from the overwhelming evidence she has received through them, which underscores the prevalence of these issues and the toll they take on her mental well-being.

She expressed a prayer for divine intervention, urging the government to take immediate action before it’s too late.

“Hardship leads to acute depression, insomnia, and a rise in drug consumption, contributing significantly to the pervasive insecurity, irrational behavior, and deteriorating mental health in our society.

“The messages I receive in my DMs serve as a testament to these realities. Consequently, I’ve made the decision to refrain from reading my DMs to safeguard my mental well-being. I pray that God grants our government the wisdom to prioritize the welfare of its citizens before the situation becomes irreversible.”
