EPL: Arsenal close gap at top to 2 points after 3-1 win over Liverpool

Following their 3-1 victory over Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday, Arsenal have significantly narrowed the gap between themselves and their rivals.

Entering the match at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners were aware that a poor outcome could jeopardize their aspirations for the title. Bukayo Saka provided an early advantage for the hosts by converting Kai Havertz’s deflected shot.

Nonetheless, a defensive error from Arsenal resulted in the ball going in off Gabriel Magalhaes’ arm. In the second half, Gabriel Martinelli capitalized on a mistake in Liverpool’s defense to restore Arsenal’s lead.

Ibrahima Konate received a red card for the visitors, and Leandro Trossard then sealed the victory with a powerful third goal.
