The Osun State Government has refuted claims of a purported protest by natives of Esa-Oke town regarding the alleged relocation of certain departments from the Osun State College of Technology, OSCOTECH, to a satellite campus in Ibokun. This was conveyed in a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Education, Dipo Eluwole, and acquired by HYPEBLOG9JA on Monday.

Eluwole asserted that the report of the protest is anti-government and stems from individuals who oppose the state’s peace, harmony, and progress.

Denying any plans by the state government to relocate the college to a satellite campus, Eluwole reassured the indigenes of Esa-Oke. He also urged for calm between the indigenes and the college community.

The statement stated, “The Osun State Ministry of Education has become aware of the unrest in Esa-Oke town, arising from rumors that the state government intends to establish a satellite campus of Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, in Ibokun. It is important for the public to understand that this claim is completely false and baseless.

“It is likely that this misinformation originated from individuals opposed to the government’s agenda for peace, harmony, and progress in the state. The ministry urges the residents of Esa-Oke to be assured that the institution will remain in the community, as there are no plans to establish a satellite campus at this time.

“In light of this, the Ministry of Education appeals for calm both within the college campus and the Esa-Oke community.”

HYPEBLOG9JA MEDIA has learned that residents of Esa-Oke community were protesting the alleged relocation of certain OSCOTECH departments to a satellite campus in Ibokun. However, a source within the college, speaking anonymously, confirmed the protest by the town’s residents but refuted any intention by the state government to carry out such a relocation.

“Yes, there is a protest in Esa-Oke today regarding the alleged relocation of certain departments to Ibokun. However, there is no school in Ibokun, and we are unaware of where the protesters obtained this information. There is no official government communication on this matter, and only the residents are protesting, not the students or faculty.”
