Boston, a US city, proclaims March 2 as “Burna Boy’s Day.”

Burna Boy's Day

The city of Boston in Massachusetts, USA, has designated March 2nd as “Burna Boy’s Day” in honor of the Nigerian artist.

Councillor Ruthzee Louijeune signed this statement in a Boston City Council paper.

The record states that Burna Boy received acclaim for his “advocacy works and performances.”

The manifesto included the following, among other things: “Boston demonstrates its dedication to recognizing and appreciating culture and diversity through various cultural events, festivals, and community projects highlighting the city’s varied landscape.”

Considering Burna Boy’s legacy, which inspires us to continue raising awareness of marginalized or ignored voices, we agree to commemorate March 2, 2024, as Burna Boy Day in the City of Boston.

After making his breakthrough on the global scene in 2018, Burna Boy has performed at numerous sold-out gigs in Boston.
