Adewale Adeniyi, Customs Controller-General, disclosed this on Saturday in Katsina, meeting residents of border towns at Kongolam and Mai’Adua.

He said Tinubu chose to exercise his power driven by “generosity towards Nigeria” rather than strictly following the law.

“He ordered the return of seized items to owners from border locations where they sold in Nigerian markets.”
Thus, we’ll be keeping an eye on you to see if there are any infractions.

Adeniyi stated, “We will return those food items and pass them back into the Nigerian markets.”
