11 dead, 24 injured in Edo road accident

Edo road accidents; The Edo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) reported that 11 individuals lost their lives in road accidents throughout the state in March 2024.

Sector Commander Paul Okpe disclosed this information to journalists in Benin City while addressing the state’s road crash incidents. Okpe stated that these fatalities resulted from eight accidents during the period, with 24 others sustaining injuries and some escaping unharmed.

He identified factors such as brake failure, speeding, driving under the influence, phone usage, and route violations as major contributors to the crashes.

Despite the ongoing campaign against traffic violations, Okpe urged motorists to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent overloading, speeding, drunk driving, night driving, and phone usage.

He emphasized the importance of embracing safety practices to reduce road accidents.
