Armed robbers; The Lagos State Police Command apprehended three alleged armed robbers accused of robbing a victim of cash and valuables worth an estimated N4 million in 2023.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrests to reporters on Sunday.

Hundeyin stated that the victim, whose identity was not disclosed, reported the robbery at the Ikorodu Police Division on October 10, 2023. The incident occurred at gunpoint in the Igbolomu area of Ikorodu, perpetrated by a gang of armed robbers.

The victim reported the loss of his gold chain, pendant, and hand chain, valued at N3.4 million. Suspects also took his Samsung Galaxy S12, two scalers, a power bank, and $200 cash, totaling about N300,000

The police spokesperson noted two suspects, 28 and 38, were apprehended in March at Ikorodu’s Igbolomu area.


Another suspect, 32, who claimed a newspaper role, was arrested around 1 a.m. on Monday.

Hundeyin said the third suspect confessed to joining the robbery, selling the gold chain for N2.2 million, earning N400,000.

He alleged the robbery gun belonged to Alhaji, serving time for another crime.

All suspects admitted to the crime and are cooperating with the police in ongoing investigations.
