Tricycle theft syndicate; The Enugu State Police Command has taken down a group that stole tricycles from states in the South East.

Enugu command’s DSP Daniel Ndukwe announced the arrest of two syndicate members on Monday in Enugu, according to reports.

Ndukwe credited Central Police Station Enugu detectives, with aid from the Neighbourhood Watch Group, for facilitating the achievement.

On April 5, 2024, at 11 a.m., investigators apprehended Michael Okorie, 18, and Christian Okorie, 19, residents of Onicha LGA, Ebonyi.

They were arrested at Mbanugo Street in Coal Camp, Enugu city, with a stolen yellow TVC tricycle in their possession.

“The suspects admitted to committing theft crimes in the states of Enugu and Ebonyi after questioning, Tricycle theft syndicate.

“They admitted stealing the tricycle from a wake on April 4, 2024, where it was parked, intending to sell it.”

He claims that after the investigations are over, the suspects will be charged and put on trial.
