Bobrisky has been sentenced

Bobrisky has been sentenced; Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, is a controversial cross-dresser and social media personality who was convicted to six months in prison by the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The six-month term was imposed by Justice Abimbola Awogboro without the possibility of a fine, Bobrisky has been sentenced.

Since his detention last week, the controversial celebrity has been under the care of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC.

The EFCC detained him for misusing the local currency.

On April 5, Bobrisky admitted guilt to four counts of misusing Naira, as charged by the anti-graft agency.

Justice Awogboro stated that mutilating Naira notes is damaging Nigeria’s image in her ruling on Friday, calling it a menace.

“Enough with people manipulating and disfiguring our money. It must end. He will act as a warning to others,” the judge continued.

Bobrisky was later given a six-month prison sentence by Justice Awoghoro, with no chance of release on bond or fine.

The day of his remand will count toward the prison sentence.
