Chippa United Chief Confirms Negotiations with Overseas Clubs Regarding Nwabali

Chippa United; Chippa United’s first-choice goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, may leave the team this summer, according to Chief Executive Officer Siviwe Mpengesi.

“Nwabali’s standout 2023 Africa Cup of Nations display for Nigeria fuels ongoing speculation about his departure from the SA squad.”

The goalkeeper was linked to Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship and El-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.”

“Kaizer Chiefs and Union St. Gilloise, Belgian Pro League sides, are reportedly chasing the ex-Enyimba goalkeeper for a transfer.”

“Mpengesi confirmed talks with foreign teams and won’t block Nwabali’s departure if a compelling offer arises.”

We have conversations with a few foreign clubs. We also think that he deserves better, particularly in light of his AFCON performance,” Mpengesi told iDiski Times.

“You know, they were runners-up, and he was the second-best goalkeeper in the AFCON, so if the possibility arises, particularly outside, it’s obviously not even for us if it comes with an offer for him. We won’t hang onto him if the offer for him is better.

This season, Nwabali has kept nine clean sheets for Chippa United.
