Nsukka Zone of UNN Demands Next Vice-Chancellor Position

The UNN’s Nsukka Zone insists on securing the next Vice-Chancellor position.

Vice-Chancellor Position; The people of Nsukka Cultural Zone have increased appeals for the federal government to consider one of their sons for the position of Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), because Prof. Charles Igwe’s term is scheduled to expire in June of this year.

Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, ex-governor of Enugu State, debated fervently on Arise Television’s Morning Show, advocating both perspectives.

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) former national chairman, Nwodo, claimed it was a moral matter.

Any group of individuals, anywhere in the world, who thinks they are eligible for anything has the right to request it, in my opinion.

“They have made their point, whether they understand it or not.”

Nwodo remarked that campaigning is a moral issue, not the procedure for selecting the next vice-chancellor.

People aim to draw attention to a wish expressed 64 years ago, not change the appointment procedures.

Similarly, a non-governmental organization (NGO) called Otobo Nsukka Cultural Zone Community Developmental Initiative has also joined the fight.

The group insists a Nsukka native deserves fair consideration for the role, as stated in a release to HYPEBLOG9JA MEDIA.

We are concerned that none of the 15 vice-chancellors have come from the Nsukka Cultural Zone since the organization’s founding. Considering the zone’s major contributions to the expansion and development of the university, this is a striking omission.

We implore every living being within the Nsukka Cultural Zone to defend our own, in keeping with our goals.

It’s time for a professor from the Nsukka Cultural Zone to take over as the University of Nigeria, Nsukka’s vice chancellor. We think that justice, equity, and fairness are at stake in this. It’s got to end!
