Protesters demand EFCC to reopen Bello Matawalle probe, storm headquarters

Protesters demand EFCC to reopen probe into Bello Matawalle, storm headquarters.

Bello Matawalle probe; Numerous demonstrators from Zamfara State have taken over the entrance to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters, demanding that the agency restart its investigation into Bello Matawalle, the former governor of the state.

The demonstrators, acting through the APC Loyalists Forum, are requesting that the EFCC look into all of the petitions filed against the former governor, including the claims of contract diversion of up to N70 billion while he was the state’s governor.

Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC’s Director of Public Affairs, accepted the protest letter on behalf of the chairman and assured demonstrators that the commission commits to thoroughly investigating every corruption case until reaching a fair resolution.

More to come.
