Obex (2025) is an offbeat American science fiction adventure written and directed by Albert Birney, blending surreal fantasy with a retro, pre-internet aesthetic. Set in 1987, the film follows Conor Marsh, a reclusive man whose quiet life with his dog Sandy is disrupted when he discovers a mysterious new computer game called OBEX. But when Sandy goes missing, the line between reality and the game world begins to blur — forcing Conor to enter the strange and dreamlike realm of OBEX to find her, confronting bizarre landscapes and odd characters along the way.
