A Nigerian woman has shared her heartbreaking experience of being thrown out of her home by her late husband’s siblings just ten days after his death.

The emotional account was posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by user @ChuksEricE, featuring a video of the woman detailing her ordeal.

She explained that her husband had been gravely ill, and they spent nearly ₦12.8 million on treatment in a desperate bid to save his life. Despite their efforts, he sadly passed away.

Following his death, her husband’s family attempted to sell his land—a decision she firmly opposed. In retaliation, they forcefully removed her from the house.

She recounted how, after dropping her son off at school, she received a distressing call informing her that the roof of her home had been dismantled and her possessions had been thrown outside.

In her words:

“Since my husband became sick, no one from his family offered any help. We went through so much and spent so much money—almost ₦12.8 million—on his treatment. We didn’t sell the land. Just ten days after he died, they cleared everything from the house. I had only gone to buy something and take my son to school when I got the call. I rushed home to find all my belongings outside.”
