Although it returned to streaming just one month ago, Hulu’s hit dystopian sci-fi series has only two episodes remaining in its sophomore season. Paradise kicked things off with a three-episode premiere, but after seeing the episodes bunched together, it’s clear that this was necessary to get the ball rolling. Paradise Season 2 also introduced one of its most talented stars so far in Shailene Woodley, who plays Annie, a friend to Xavier (Sterling K. Brown) and lover to Link (Thomas Doherty). Annie tragically passed away after only a few episodes, but she left behind her child, who is now being looked after by Xavier. With only two episodes left in Paradise Season 2, Hulu has taken a massive leap of faith with the series before seeing how fans react to the looming finale.

Paradise was written and created for TV by Dan Fogelman, who previously collaborated with Sterling K. Brown on This Is Us. Fogelman has been open about his three-season plan for Paradise, even confirming that Disney asked him if he could stretch the show out to get another season. He declined this proposal, though, citing his desire to stick with his plan and not sacrifice any of his creative morals just to make more episodes. Hulu confirmed it was giving Fogelman a chance to see his plan through yesterday, when it was announced that Paradise had been renewed for a third season. Fogelman took to his personal X account after the news was made public to also confirm that Season 3 will begin shooting in just a few weeks. This is in line with everything Sterling K. Brown has also said in the last few days regarding the show’s future.

What’s Happening in ‘Paradise’ Right Now?

The most recent episode of Paradise focused on Jane (Nicole Brydon Bloom), shining a light on her past and explaining why she’s so willing to kill for Sinatra (Julianne Nichson). Paradise Season 2, Episode 6 also saw Xavier take the final step in finding his wife Teri (Enuka Okuma), but Gary (Cameron Britton) is standing in the way due to his love for Teri. Back inside the bunker, Cal Bradford’s son is working with some other prisoners to hatch a plan to “blow the doors off” of the Paradise bunker.

Check out the first six episodes of Paradise Season 2 on Hulu and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Season 3.
