Historic romance / action drama
At the end of the Qing Dynasty (1636-1912) and the beginning of the Republic of China (1912-1949), the prosperous Lin family is wiped out overnight. The only surviving daughter, Lin Mengchen, is sold to the powerful and corrupt Huang family to be married in a ghost wedding to their deceased son. As Mengchen is about to be buried alive, she is unexpectedly rescued by Xiaosheng, the top assassin of the Blood Sacrifice Hall — who had been assigned to eliminate the Huang clan. Witnessing his mission, Mengchen not only survives but eventually regards him as her benefactor. Xiaosheng takes her under his protection, addressing her as his sister, and hides a double identity: by day a respectable merchant, by night the Hall’s lethal operative. Ten years later, Mengchen has matured and secretly joined the very organization Xiaosheng leads. What follows is a twist of fate, loyalty, revenge and forbidden feelings. TVmaze+1
