‘Fire Country’ Turns Up the Heat in Tense Midseason Premiere Sneak Peek [Exclusive]
Have you seen stories about 'Chucky,' 'Scream,' 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' 'The Boys,' 'Vanderpump Rules,' or any of 'The Real Housewives' franchises? That's probably a Britta DeVore-curated piece of art, and it sounds like you have great taste.
When she isn't sitting behind her laptop bringing readers her hot takes on upcoming projects or keeping the dream alive in the Senior News team, Britta can usually be found outside hiking or inside behind her drum set. She currently plays in two bands, Kid Midnight and Watergate, both based in Brooklyn. An obsessive traveler, Britta loves long road trips to the South West and has a soft spot in her heart for canyons, rivers, and forests.
She also has a tiny cat named Athena that she loves more than anything else in the world and is always happy for new brewery recs.
Things have never been so hot for the characters of CBS’ beloved procedural Fire Country as they were during December’s midseason finale. Just when you thought the stakes couldn’t get any higher, showrunner Tia Napolitano and the rest of the creative team cranked up the tension and have held fans hostage since the title went into hibernation nearly two months ago. But soon, the wait will be over, and audiences will learn the fate of multiple characters when the show returns for its second half of episodes on Friday, February 27. Today, as part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview event, we’ve got a first look at the action that’s about to shake out for Max Thieriot’s Bode when the story continues in just a few days.
With a stowaway, Tyler (Connor Sherry) by his side, Bode (Thieriot) carefully walks through the ongoing threat of the latest blaze to threaten Edgewater in our first look at Fire Country’s return. Calling back to base, Bode reports a downed engine, which we quickly learn belongs to Jake (Jordan Calloway), whose fate was left in the balance by the time the credits rolled in the previous episode. On the other end of the walkie-talkie, Manny (Kevin Alejandro) is desperate for answers, but puts a pin in his search and rescue mission for Jake to instead get the ball rolling to pull Tyler and Bode out of harm’s way.
Our new look at Fire Country’s Season 4 return certainly stokes the flames of intrigue, as we now know that Bode and Tyler will likely be rescued, and that eyes are officially on Jake following his accident. Still, there are plenty of other questions left regarding other members of the firefighting team, as well as how the fallout of Landon (Josh McDermitt) being questioned about the Zabel Ridge fire will play out for Chloe (Alona Tal) and Tyler.
What’s Next for ‘Fire Country’?
Beyond the latest life-threatening emergency, the drama will be exploding in plenty of extra ways when Fire Country returns. Since the introduction of Tal’s Chloe during the first half of Season 4, it’s been abundantly clear that a potential new romance is on the way for Bode. During a chat with Collider’s Christina Radish ahead of the midseason finale, Napolitano teed up the sparks of the non-fire variety that will fly between the potential couple, explaining:
“In our storytelling, they knew each other as kids, which brings a certain sweetness and a certain amount of wish fulfillment. What if your crush walked into your life now and you both happened to be available? What would happen? We’re leaning into the innocence and magic and ease that exists between those two people.”
