Sterling K. Brown may not be one of the highest-grossing stars in the world, but he’s certainly one of the most talented. Just a few years ago, Brown earned his first Oscar nomination for his commanding performance in American Fiction, the 2023 drama co-starring Jeffrey Wright that was written and directed by Cord Jefferson. Wright was also recognized by the Academy for his performance in the film, and Jefferson even won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Brown made his brief but impactful MCU debut back in 2018 by starring as N’Jobu in Black Panther, the father of Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan). One of his longest-running roles came from playing Randall Pearson for over 100 episodes of This Is Us, which was written and created for TV by Dan Fogelman.

Considering how successful Brown and Fogelman’s previous work together was with This Is Us, it was only a matter of time before they teamed up for a new project. Last year, the two reunited for Paradise, a new Hulu original series starring Brown as Xavier Collins, a Secret Service agent tasked with investigating the death of President Cal Bradford (James Marsden). Things take a turn at the end of the first episode of Paradise when it’s revealed that the investigation is happening inside a bunker in Colorado after a world-ending disaster forced a select few underground. Paradise returned with its highly anticipated second season last week, and after kicking things off with a much darker three episodes, the show is handily at the top of Hulu and Disney+ streaming charts. Julianne Nicholson and James Marsden return in Paradise Season 2, and newcomers Shailene Woodley and Thomas Doherty have also joined the cast.

Has ‘Paradise’ Been Renewed for Season 3?

Hulu has not officially picked up Paradise for a third season, but it’s all but guaranteed that the show will have a chance to continue beyond Season 2. Creator Dan Fogelman has spoken candidly about his three-season plan for the show, and he’s even admitted that Disney has asked him if he could stretch the show to add another season. However, he declined, confirming that he wants to stick to his planned story. An official renewal announcement for Paradise will likely come before the end of Season 2.

Check out the first four episodes of Paradise Season 2 on Hulu and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of the show.
