Tom Holland's Heroic Web-Slinger is Reborn in First 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Trailer
Disney kicked off 2026 with quite the gift for MCU fans, wrapping up its rollout of four teasers for Avengers: Doomsday before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Each offered a glimpse at the superheroes returning for the big fight against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, from the franchise favorites Captain America and Thor, to the original 20th Century Fox X-Men, the Wakandans, and The Fantastic Four. For all the buzz around the team-up blockbuster, though, the franchise first has to reintroduce one of its most beloved heroes — Spider-Man. Marvel has taken its sweet time, but, after a fun worldwide clip-by-clip rollout, it has finally brought the wall-crawler back out of the shadows for a long-awaited rebirth.
The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been released, finally addressing what Tom Holland's young hero has been up to since the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. It opens with a reminder that, to protect the universe and everyone he loves, Peter Parker let Doctor Strange erase his existence from everyone's mind, even if it breaks his heart. He's continued living with his difficult, but just choice in isolation ever since, while continuing his heroic duties as the wall-crawler, a life that appears to have weighed heavily on him. Yet, at least Spider-Man is still at the top of his game when it comes to saving innocent people. However, he's about to be pulled into the web of a very dangerous new threat.
Although she's still shrouded in mystery, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink will have a big part to play in this story, with rumors that she'll appear as any character from Jean Grey to Shathra. Whatever her arrival brings, Peter won't be alone in Brand New Day, with Bruce Banner/The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) confirmed to return to the fight. It won't just be an Avenger coming to the rescue, though, as Jon Bernthal's The Punisher is poised to give Spidey an unexpected assist, even if that means plowing into him with his car. Coming off his return as Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, this will mark his first big-screen appearance in the role. The trailer also teases Peter's long-awaited reunion with MJ (Zendaya), a moment that has been nearly five years in the making and will be critical to the Wallcrawler's emotional journey.

For the time being, finer story details from the story penned by returning writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are still being kept under wraps. Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is at the helm and helped get the fourth Spidey film up and running quickly once he came aboard. He got to work with a cast mixing exciting newcomers and MCU veterans alike, including the return of Jacob Batalon as Peter's friend Ned Leeds. Other familiar faces include Michael Mando as Scorpion and Marvin Jones III as Tombstone, the latter of whom voiced the crime boss in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, while The Bear's Liza Colón-Zayas and Severance's Tramell Tillman make up the other new names.
