Ethan Hunt and his team are in a race against time to apprehend Hendricks, a dangerous terrorist who has obtained Russian nuclear launch codes and intends to strike the United States.

Their efforts to stop him result in a massive explosion that devastates the Kremlin and falsely implicates the IMF in the attack, leading the President to officially disavow the agency.

Cut off from government support, Ethan and his team pursue Hendricks across the globe, but time is running out to prevent a catastrophic disaster.
