MR BURTON (2025) tells the powerful true story of an extraordinary bond between Port Talbot schoolteacher Philip Burton and a rebellious young student, Richie Jenkins — the son of a heavy-drinking miner. Richie harbored dreams of becoming an actor, and Philip recognized his untamed potential. Taking the boy under his wing, he mentored and practically adopted him, shaping him into Richard Burton — the most iconic star Wales has ever known. Richard would one day say of his mentor: “I owe him everything.”
