17-year-old girl arrested in Georgia for the murder of her mother and stepfather

A 17-year-old girl, Sarah Grace Patrick, has been arrested and charged with the murder of her mother and stepfather nearly six months after their deaths.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reports that Patrick is accused of fatally shooting 41-year-old Kristin Brock and 45-year-old James Brock, whose bodies were found in bed on February 20 at their home in Carrollton, Georgia.

Patrick, who lived in the home with the couple and her younger sibling, was the one who called 911 after the 6-year-old child reportedly discovered the bodies.

She now faces two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault, and is being charged as an adult.

Authorities say Patrick turned herself in on July 8, after learning that an arrest warrant had been issued. She was brought to the sheriff’s office by her father.

The investigation remains active, and officials have indicated that additional arrests may be possible as new evidence is uncovered.

Earlier, the family had offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Kristin’s father, Dennis Nolan, expressed his grief at the time, saying, “This is so horrendous. You just can’t imagine someone taking the lives of two good people.”
