About 40 to 42 pupils and students have reportedly been abd¥cted following an att@ck on Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, near the Sambisa Forest.
The incident, believed to have been carried out by Boko Haram fighters, reportedly occurred on Friday morning when armed assailants stormed the school and nearby homes in Mussa community.
Federal lawmaker Midala Balami confirmed the att@ck and condemned the continued targeting of schoolchildren and civilians, saying, “It is heartbreaking that innocent school children and residents continue to suffer under the thr£at of t+rrorism and vi%lence in our communities.”
Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume also confirmed the incident, stating, “Four (4) students were abd¥cted from the GDSS (two male and two female), 28 pupils were abd¥cted from the primary section, while 10 children were abd¥cted from their various residential houses.”
Reports further indicate that the att@ck affected both the school premises and residential areas, making it difficult for families to immediately account for all missing children. Community members and local representatives are reportedly compiling lists to determine the exact number of victims.
