Task (Season 1) is a crime-drama limited series by Brad Ingelsby. The story centers on two men in the working-class suburbs outside Philadelphia whose lives become intertwined through a spiralling crime plot:

  • Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo), an FBI agent who, reeling from a personal tragedy, is pulled back into active duty to lead a new Task Force. His assignment is to stop a string of violent robberies targeting drug houses. Hulu+2Sportskeeda+2
  • Robbie Prendergrast (Tom Pelphrey) is a garbage collector and family man whose dangerous choices set him on a collision course with law enforcement. He is driven by desperation, trying to support his family beyond what his mundane day‐job allows. Hulu+1

The series explores themes of moral compromise, guilt, family, and whether desperation justifies crime. As both characters' decisions escalate, their actions affect those around them—friends, family, community—and the consequences become unavoidable. Hulu+2Sportskeeda+2
